Mr. Lars-Erik Magnusson

M
r. Lars-Erik Magnusson, born in Sweden in 1953, is the founder of the Larmag Group. He has extensive experience in international business and maintains important business connections throughout the world.

E
arly 1970 saw the start of Lars-Erik Magnusson's career. He began in the construction business, buying and selling buildings, plant and machinery. From the late seventies he concentrated his operations increasingly on the aquisition, development and sale of real estate.

M
r. Magnusson's broad experience in real estate has been a key factor to his success in concluding a number of substantial business transactions.

D
uring 1985 and 1986, Larmag closed a number of successful property transactions, including the acquisition and sale of the Ariel Beta Portfolio (see under menu item History - 1985-1996). These initial operations in the Dutch property market confirmed Mr. Magnusson's judgement that this market offered unique opportunities for property investors seeking substantial capital gains with limited risk. In Mr. Magnusson's view, Holland offers an ideal combination of advantages for the serious and prudent investor, since it enjoys a sound political, social and economic infrastructure, a central geographical location in Europe, a growing export potential and a large concentration of well educated and highly skilled people.

M
r. Magnusson's conviction in the mid 1980's that the Dutch commercial property market had for years been undervalued, proved a sound platform for a further series of successful transactions. Larmag gained major momentum with the development and sale of the Pronam portfolio in 1988 (see under menu item History - 1985-1996). From then on, Mr. Magnusson began broadening his activities internationally, using The Netherlands as a base to invest in commercial real estate in the centres of the major cities of Europe, including Amsterdam, Brussels, Paris and London as well as in the United States. Among the important deals based on this strategy was the acquisition of 300,000 m2 of office space in New York and Chicago in 1989 for a total amount of USD 630 million.

M
r. Magnusson has made a name for Larmag by creating an investment group with a turnover in excess of Euro 2.5 billion within its first 10 years. Larmag is advised by top names in the field of finance, law and fiscal matters.
